When the CC App tells you there's an update available for Audition, DON'T install it until something newer than the 2017.1 release (version 10.1.0. Select "CC(2017) 10.0.2" and when the confirmation dialog box comes up, click "Yes, install this version." The last entry at the very bottom of this list is "View Previous Versions." Click that. Scroll down to "Find additional apps" and directly to the right you'll see a filter toggle labelled "All Apps." Click this. Inside the Full Reverb effect, you can make your voice sound small enough to fit inside a chamber pot or large enough to fill a concert hall. Under the Convolution Reverb tab, create the impression that your voice is coming from a judge’s chamber, smoky bar, or under a bridge. There are five different types of reverb effects in Audition, and several presets within each of those. Hit CTRL/CMD+A to select the whole audio track. Click and drag to highlight only that audio. Reverberation describes sound waves bouncing off of different surfaces. Find a section in the audio where it is just the background noise. Keep it subtle with the Rockabilly delay preset, or achieve instant creepiness with the Spooky echo preset. If you want to make someone sound like they’re standing at the bottom of a well, or shouting across a canyon, play with the Delay and Echo tools. There’s also a specific DeEsser effect in the Amplitude and Compression tab.Īn echo is caused by a sound wave bouncing off a distant surface. You can adjust the center frequency and bandwidth so that you can accurately target the offending sounds. There are presets for male and female voices, each dampening a set of frequencies where those esses might become distracting. If your ess sounds hiss and p and b sounds pop, you can use the Vocal Enhancer effect. Specifying a higher parameter value (up to 80dB) can significantly reduce background noise, but applies less leveling and amplification of speech content. You can also customize your settings by moving the Semi-tone sliders. Find the Pitch Shifter effect, and choose from presets like Angry Gerbil or The Dark Lord. Raise your pitch so you sound like a chipmunk or lower it for a Darth Vader effect.
